Where: Oval #2 & Oval #3 (next to The Forum, Sports and Aquatic Centre - SCH
at D10 on campus map below), Newcastle University

Firstly, getting to Newcastle. There are
several ways:
Car: See the Newcastle map below
for more details. Coming from the south, take
the Sydney-Newcastle freeway north. There are 2 exits at the Newcastle
interchange about 1km apart. Take the second one, which goes to
'Wallsend/Newcastle'.
You then follow the link road (a 90km/hr road) to the outskirts of
Newcastle. Then go straight through the roundabout, through the traffic
lights (2), and turn right at the top of the hill onto Newcastle Rd. Go
straight through the roundabout and traffic lights. Make sure you are in the
left-hand lane when you approach the 2nd set of traffic lights. Go straight
through the traffic lights and follow the lane left onto the expressway.
Take the first exit (it is marked with a blue "University" sign)
and turn right and the roundabout. You are now on University Drive. The best entrance is to
turn left at the traffic lights (N12 on campus map below). The best place to park
is in car park C12 (C12/C13 on campus map below). Parking is free on weekends.
Train: Coming from Sydney, you can
catch a City Rail train to one of several Newcastle stations. You can catch
most Newcastle-bound trains from Central, Strathfield, Eastwood, Epping and
Hornsby. The best stations to get off in Newcastle are Broadmeadow (to catch
a bus to the Uni, see below), or Hamilton or Newcastle (to catch a train or
bus to Uni). If you are catching an interconnecting train, get off at
Warrabrook (University) station (B16 on the campus map below). It is then only a
short walk to Oval #2. Timetables are fares are available from http://www.cityrail.nsw.gov.au If you are coming from north or west, you can catch a Countrylink XPT
(from Brisbane) or Xplorer (from Armidale). These trains stop at
Broadmeadow, where you can interconnect with buses (see below). See http://www.countrylink.nsw.gov.au
for timetable and fare details.
Bus: Newcastle has an extensive
Government-run public bus system. From Broadmeadow station, catch routes
226, 227 or 228. From the city, catch routes 100, 103, 226, 227, or 228. You
get off at the first of the 2 university bus stops ('Design South'), located
at L8 on the campus map below. Tickets are time-based, so just buy a 1-hour ticket
from the driver. Timetables are available from http://www.131500.com.au.
Others: You can also catch a
long-distance coach. You can try:
