We have to decide a team for EUC (eastern uni champs) very soon
(ie next week). It will be held in Wollongong on the 26, 27th May. I would like
to call for expressions of interest. Please email myself (andrew.pennington@studentmail.newcastle.edu.au)
or Jonno Holmes (mrfrisbee@hotmail.com)
ASAP WRT whether or not you would like to be considered for the team.
It should be a really fun time, and please do not think that just because you
are inexperienced, you cannot apply for the team - you can, especially if you
are female, given that we don't have a lot of experienced female players
currently (a few left uni last year).
We would like a team of about 14, and we will be selecting the team based on
ability, enthusiasm, spirit and willingness to come (in no particular order).
So, email ASAP or tell me on Monday night. We hope to announce the team by Wed
night.
regards
Andrew

Well, another public holiday comes around, and I hear you all crying out, What am I going to do with myself? Sit at home and twiddle my thumbs?
Well, never fear, your fearless frisbee club has solved this very pertinent question, by putting on a game of delicious beach ultimate!
Yes you heard correctly! Ultimate at the beach.
Time: 2:30-3pm
Date: Silly, if you were reading you would know it was tomorrow (anzac day)
Where: Newcastle beach, probably the north end. But just look out for people
throwing discs.
Who: You and any friends you want to bring. A good chance to introduce someone
to the game...
So, come along and have some fun! If its good weather, we could have a swim
afterwards.
NB If it is raining, you can assume that it will be cancelled, but I will try
and email out in the morning if it is raining.
See you there,
Andrew (Pennoes)

I am currently looking into the prospect of placing anyone who
wants to play this years National Championships on teams. Nationals is held over
the Easter Long weekend (4 days) and is the biggest tournament of the year. This
year it is being held in Sydney (Nolan Reserve in Manly), which means it is a
prime opportunity for anyone from Newcastle who wants to play. So far I know of
2 guys (Jonno and Chris) and one girl (Leanne) who want to play. If there are
any others please let me know ASAP. I can't garauntee you a team, but there may
be some teams who still need players.
There is also a beginners tournament on at the same time (on the Sunday I
think), so you can still play if you think Nationals is a bit too serious for
you.
I can highly recommend playing Nat's. My first Nat's was in 1997 when I was very
much a beginner, and I had a great time. So if your keen, or have any qtns, let
me know.
