Yes, it took me most of today, but I've put a whole lot of photos from AUC on the web site. Hooray! However, these are only my photos. If you have any lying around, please send them my way. I promise to look after them and send them back.
Also, if you want more information on the egroups mailing list mentioned last
week here and at training, you can visit the list's web site.

1. Newcastle League - There are plans to start our own league / social comp. We hope to have a 4-team competition. It will consist of 7-a-side games. This means that teams will probably want to have 9 players (1 male and 1 female sub). Most likely, the games will be on Wednesday nights. We also want beginners on the teams, and will ensure that the experienced players are spread between the teams. So invite your friends to join in and get a team together. Pass your nominations on to Sturt.
2. Worlds. Andrew Pennington is on his way to Germany to represent Australia in the World Ultimate Championships. We wish him well. Details of the teams progress and any snippets from Pennoes will be emailed to members. Good Luck Pennoes!
3. Email. Whilst we're on the subject, if you give Sturt your email address, you will be included in any emails that get sent. These range from announcements about upcoming events, to news items such as Worlds.
4. NSW-Ultimate. It is also highly recommended that if you want to keep any
eye on what is happening in ultimate around NSW (including Newcastle), then you
should subscribe to the NSW email list. This list is for posting announcements.
And if we get more Newcastle people subscribing and posting, then it should
become are truly state-based email list.
To subscribe, send an email to nsw-ultimate-subscribe@egroups.com
To post a message, email nsw-ultimate@egroups.com
Don't forget the many other web sites, including the national AFDA site,
that are listed under 'Links' at the top of this page. The will also contain
information on frisbee happenings.
5. Photos. I have some photos from Savage Sevens and AUC which will be going up over the coming days. If you have any photos, or wish to contribute anything else to these pages, please email me, or see me a frisbee.

Another email from Roger:
To the dutch people: sorry, Ik wilde niet alles 2 keer schrijven, dus moest
het in het engels!
Hello everybody,
As you can see, I am mailing again (seem to spend some time in front of the
computer...there are
internetplaces all over the country). I have just finished my 3-day fraser
island trip. It was excelent. A short overview of what it was.
After selling my car in Brisbane I caught the coach to Hervey bay, arriving 2
hours late on 17th I was just to late to join the group leaving on 18th, so I
had to wait another day. What happens is: everybody is put in a group of about 8
(in my case 6 people I had never met: 2 Scotts, 2 Irish and 2 Israelians). The
next morning 2 Belgians joined our group. All the things
you bought (groceries and alcohol) get put in the 4wd with all the camping gear,
so that there is just enough room left for, say, 6 people. Then all 9 people get
in, take the ferry to fraser and start bouncing around in between all the other
"stuff" in the jeep.
As you can imagine that is quite a lot of fun!
Fraser Island is a beautiful place, and the weather was amazing (I got sunburnt
in the middle of winter!).
Today I am off to Airly beach and from there I will start a 3-day sailing trip
on 24th. Then I hope to do another 1-day trip, which was "for free"
(whatever that means, but I'll see), on 27th or 28th and after that I will go
back to Brisbane asap.
I don't want to make all the working people jalous, but I am having
fun....hopefully you are too!
Groeten uit Hervey Bay,
Dagdag,
Roger

Welcome back for Semester 2. Even though not much has been happening on these web pages, there has been activity in the frisbee world. Newcastle sent a team to Adelaide to compete in the Australian University Championships. We've also had several new players at our pickup games, and I'd like to pass on a warm welcome to them. Also, many thanks to they various people who have helped once again with our table at Contact this week. Also a big thankyou to Cindy for organising this over the past week.
For those people who went to Adelaide, if you have any photos, please send them in. I'm sure that everyone would love to see the antics and athleticism of the 2000 team. Also, if you would like to contribute articles or anecdotes to the AUC 2000 web page, please also send them my way. I have started working on the web pages for AUC, writing up the results and cheers.
Finally, last week we said goodbye to Roger van Mil - the "Flying Dutchman". There was a farewell held last Thursday at the Tanner Bar, and on Friday Roger left Newcastle for the last time. We wish him well on his travels around Oz and back home. Roger has promised to keep in touch via email. Below is a copy of his first email. If you didn't receive it, email Roger to get him to add you to the list.

Following is Roger's first email "on tour". If you didn't receive your copy, email him to get added to the list.
Hoihoi everyone,
Let me start by saying to the people that I added to the list; If you dont want
to receive this kind of mails, just let me know. Even so: if you know people
that I forgot....same thing!
For all the dutch people who were used to receiving mails from me in dutch....There
are "english"-speaking people listening.
As most of you know: I left Newcastle yesterday (friday) and drove to Coffs
Harbour (after, yes Susan (Kriete), a couple of tears), because Jonno offered a
stay at his parents'. They're wonderful people, Jonno! I am so glad I visited
them.
Now (the second day) I am in Brisbane and my car has had it's last K's. I am not
sure what I am going to do know, as I had hoped to reach Cairns with it, but
that's out of the question now. I will probably take a coach to Hervey bay and
visit fraiser island from there and then take another coach up north...But I
didn't make any plans so far.
For the people back home: I had a great time in Adelaide, where I went to join
the "Nudiscs" in
playing an ultimate frisbee tournament. I am glad I gave up a week of my holiday
for that.
All the people in Newcastle: I am missing you already, you are making it a bit
harder to travel around alone! Keep in touch.
So far Roger from Brisbane!
Dagdag!
Ps. Never forget to enjoy every bit of life that you can get. Ask Jonno's
parents for advise if you don't know. how.
