Trains

There is a regular train service between Newcastle and the University. The University station is known as “Warabrook (University)”. Tickets are available from ticket offices and ticket machines at all stations. A ticket from Newcastle to Warabrook costs $2.40 ($1.20 for NSW students). The southern suburbs of Newcastle operate on a different line. You can catch services from these stations to Hamilton and change for a Warabrook service. A guide to University public transport will be available at the Welcome BBQ.

Buses

Other Venues

An informal gathering at a local pub known as The Brewery is planned for after the Wednesday night feature game between the Australia 2000 Green & Gold team and New Zealand. The Brewery is located at Queen’s Warf in the city. Any bus or train to Newcastle goes right past The Brewery. Further directions can be obtained from Championships staff during the games.

The organisers understand the difficulties in trying to find your way around a new city. If you have any queries, then please email Andrew, or see Championships staff during the games.
